As a nonprofit thrift store, we donate 100% of our profits to organizations in our community and around the world that are working to meet basic human needs.
When you shop at Save & Serve, your purchase helps support emergency food and clothing programs, disaster relief, addiction recovery, domestic abuse counseling, youth development, community improvement initiatives, and many other critical services.
Community members had a vision to open a thrift store that would support the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Sales from the store would help fund programs that align with MCC’s mission – sharing God’s love and compassion for all, responding to basic human needs, and working for peace and justice.
Although we just occupied a small storefront on a side street in Millersburg, Ohio, we grew and needed more space. In 2006, Save & Serve moved to our current location on South Washington Street.
Today, we’re part of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Thrift Shop Network of more than 85 independently governed stores across the United States and Canada.

Our customers can make an impact during Community Benefit Days. During these special Saturday events, every single dollar spent with us is given to a designated local cause.
The supplies that MCC sends around the world offer comfort to families facing disaster or crisis. It is a tangible way to share God’s love and compassion, reminding people that they are not forgotten. MCC is also involved in North America working with indigenous peoples, immigration, victims and offenders of crime, environmental care, people with disabilities, peace education and more.
As an Anabaptist organization, we strive to make peace a part of everything we do. When responding to disasters MCC works with local groups to distribute resources in ways that minimize conflict. In development work we plan with community and church groups to make sure the projects meet local needs. MCC advocates for policies that will lead to a more peaceful world.
