Warehouse

Save & Serve has a second facility to store seasonal items and bale clothing below our retail standard. Organizational skills are vital, whether you come with a group or work independently. Remember, safety first with all equipment!

Hardware/Electrical

The perfect place to volunteer your mechanical skills! All electrical or batteries operated items go to the hardware bench. Help evaluate and test each item before it goes out to the retail floor.

Furniture Pick-Up

Furniture pick-up helps donors move or downsize while giving to the local community. We need volunteers with strong backs to load and transport large items to Save & Serve. We’ll supply the box truck.

Special Events

Help organize the fun and create traditions! Support the prom fashion show, be an extra elf at Christmas or help kick-off new seasonal displays. We have lots to celebrate!

Cleaning

There is no task too great or too small! We strive to keep the store clean and odor free. Volunteers who vacuum, clean and tidy shelves help us maintain a fresh and friendly presence for our customers.

Display

The best part of thrift shopping is that the merchandise changes daily. Volunteer designers help keep our retail floor and displays eye catching! Whether it’s apparel or décor, our displays spark customer interest with collections of vintage and vogue.

Pricing/ Tagging Items

Once donations are sorted, we need volunteers to price the items before they make it to the retail floor. Whether it’s a rack of clothing or a cart of household items, each thing you price is another item that can be sold to support MCC’s relief, development and peace work around the world.

Relief Manager

They do it all! Whether it’s answering phones, restocking shelves or tidying the changing rooms, relief managers hold down the fort - covering the store in the managers’ absence.

Research rare and unusual donations for display. Whether it’s a wooden sea trunk, great-grandma’s china, or a collection of local pottery, these volunteers help find the story behind the item.

Often working as groups, donation sorters glean through everything! They keep our backroom processing efficient and fun! We need volunteers who can spot hidden gems, vintage finds and quality items.

As we strive to keep pace with donations, these key volunteers keep the flow of goods moving throughout the entire processing room.

Drive-Thru Donation Attendant

We value the generosity of our donors! We need volunteers with friendly smiles and strong backs to help us handle the variety of items that are donated each day. Attendants lend a hand to donors while keeping the donation porch organized and swept clean.

Retail assistants provide support to cashiers, answer routine customer questions and keep the retail floor looking organized.

Bagger

Volunteer baggers help the cashier by bagging bought items, providing friendly customer service and helping maintain efficient transactions. Fragile or glass items may require additional wrapping.

Walk in the door at Save & Serve and you’re greeted with familiar faces from the community. Whether it’s a warm hello or a friendly smile, greeters help us keep customer service a top priority.

Cashier

Volunteers who work the cash register are another friendly face at Save & Serve. As they help customers complete their purchases, they have the opportunity to make acquaintances with Holmes County locals and with our many out-of-state tourists. Typical morning and afternoon shifts are 9-1 and 1-5. Thursday we’re open late and need an evening crew from 5-8.
